Welcome message from our President

Hi,

We at Dublin Toastmasters are entering in to our 52nd Season and I hope that you can join us for what I hope will be a great season.

Everyone struggles with the idea of public speaking! What if I make a mistake? What if I forget what I wanted to say? What will the audience think of me?

Developing public speaking, presentation and leadership skills are very important at any time but are especially important in the current economic climate for job interviews, sales promotions, business meetings, training, for voluntary groups and for networking.

Why should I join?

Toastmaster’s is an inexpensive and friendly atmosphere to learn public speaking and leadership skills.

Who joins Toastmasters?

Men and Women of all ages, backgrounds and nationalities are welcome.

Who is the club affiliated to?

Dublin Toastmasters is affiliated to Toastmasters International which is a not for profit organisation devoted to making effective oral communication a reality. Each affiliated club organizes its’ own affairs and receives training materials, educational awards and administrative assistance from Toastmasters International. There are 12,500 Toastmaster Clubs in 106 countries with 250,000 members. There are about 70 clubs in Ireland.

My theme for this year as President is an old theme but I think a very important theme “Get outside your comfort zone”. Perhaps you could push yourself outside your comfort zone by visiting a Toastmasters meeting and see for yourself what Toastmasters is all about.

Go on take a risk. You’ll be glad you did.
